About the degree programme

Do you want a practical and versatile course of study?
The Bachelor's degree course in Business Administration at Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences is just the thing for you! Here you will learn the basics of business administration and can specialize in your areas of interest such as controlling, entrepreneurship or marketing. Practical projects with companies in one of Europe's strongest economic regions make the course application-oriented and exciting. You will develop your ability to work in a team, problem-solving skills and more and will be optimally prepared for a career in management. Course content

  • Duration: 7 semesters, 210 Credit Points
  • Structure: Beginning semesters focused on basic business courses, higher semesters offer specialisations ans elective modules

Would you like to gain new perspectives and broaden your horizons?

With the International Business Studies (IBS) course, your global career becomes a reality!

The IBS field of study focusses on International topics from the 4th semester onwards. You will spend one semester abroad and gather at least 70 ECTS credits points with international focus. IBS gives you preferential access to English-language modules and partner universities.

This is your chance to perfect your foreign language skills and to develop a global mindset that top companies are looking for. 

You have the unique opportunity, to:

  • take part in exciting international projects in Rosenheim and abroad,
  • attend interactive courses with renowned international guest lecturers,
  • work virtually with students in the USA, China, India and many other countries (e.g. in the VBP project),
  • study at one of numerous partner universities in Europe and worldwide.

The IBS degree programme prepares you ideally for a career at home and abroad. It enables you to:

  • and skills in international management through tailored courses from experts in Rosenheim and around the world.

Bachelor's graduates in business administration have numerous opportunities to join companies in a wide range of industries or to become self-employed - a path that is optimally supported by our start-up center ROCkET. Private companies, e.g. in industry, trade or consulting, but also public organizations are always in need of practically trained business economists. Possible areas of responsibility range from procurement/purchasing, manufacturing, logistics or sales to human resources, controlling, marketing and other areas of corporate management/control and administration. Professional profiles

Accountants have specialised knowledge in the field of external and internal accounting. In the field of external accounting, this includes the preparation of annual and consolidated financial statements and auditing in accordance with international standards, as well as company analysis and valuation on the basis of annual financial statement information. In the area of internal accounting, the primary focus is on the conception of controlling tasks based on the available controlling instruments and the subsystems of management-oriented corporate accounting.

In principle, you can become self-employed in any field, as long as the legal requirements are also fully met. Financial service providers provide services relating to financial transactions on behalf of credit and financial services institutions, insurance companies, building societies and credit card institutions. The opportunities in the financial services sector are wide-ranging. From advice on investments or financial products or its management for private or business customers, many other alternatives are given.

Human Resources (HR) Managers are responsible for all personnel matters within a company. Sustainable competitive advantages in a globalized world are achieved through the development of marketing strategies. Organisational managers advise and support the company with regard to strategy, organisation, use of resources, project management and business administration. They develop complex project approach methods and implement solutions and new processes in the company.

Key account managers contribute to customer loyalty by providing targeted support to key customers. They are responsible for complaint management, maintain regular and close contact with these customers and accept requests for improvement. As a rule, key account management is a subdivision in sales.

In sales management, the focus is on selling products or services. As a sales manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning sales strategies. Measures are developed to acquire new customers and existing customer contacts are maintained. Sales managers also manage and monitor sales activities in line with company targets.

Tax advisors advise and support their clients in the processing of tax matters or in the fulfillment of their tax obligations. They answer all questions concerning bookkeeping and accounting, tax returns and tax enforcement and tax structuring.

Auditing is primarily an "examination" and "audit" of a company's bookkeeping and accounting. In this context, an auditor reviews financial reporting in accordance with applicable standards as well as the statutory audit of annual financial statements.

As a supply chain manager, the value and supply chains are coordinated and optimized. The manager is responsible for ensuring that all processes, from the procurement of raw materials, through production and logistics, to delivery to the customer, run smoothly. Not only do they have to keep an eye on the materials, they also have to ensure that the flow of information and money is flawless. The processes are optimized along the value chain in such a way that costs are reduced to a minimum.

Business lawyers mostly work in companies and bear responsibility for legal matters in the respective departments, such as legal personnel matters or the fulfillment of legal requirements in contract management.

Application and admission

How do you get admission to the degree programme?

In order to be admitted to the degree programme, you must meet certain requirements and submit the relevant documents with your application: 

  • Certificate for a university entrance qualification (please find more information at uni-assist)

 

Please note: when applying via uni-assist, all documents must be submitted to uni-assist within the application period. 

The following apply as proof of required German language skills for language level B2:

  • German-language university entrance qualification
  • Certificate of an assessment test to determine the eligibility of foreign applicants to study at institutions of higher education in the Federal Republic of Germany (= Feststellungsprüfung)
  • Completed German-language Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • Completed German studies university degree in Germany or abroad
  • International university entrance qualification plus at least two years of secondary education at a German-speaking school. (Proof must be provided by uploading two annual school reports.)
  • German at level A in the final certificate of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
  • For students at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences: Successful completion of the following four modules at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences:
    a) German B2.1
    b) German B2.2
    c) Technical German 1 – B2/C1
    d) Technical German 2 – B2/C1
  • German language diploma DSD level 2 (level CEFR B2/C1)
  • Goethe Certificate B2 or higher
  • TELC Certificate B2 or higher
  • ÖSD Certificate B2 or higher
  • German language proficiency test for university entrance for foreign applicants DSH 1 or higher
  • German as a foreign language test for foreign applicants TDN 3 or higher

 

When can you apply for the degree programme?

  • 15 April - 15 July for a study start in October (winter semester)

If you are applying with a university entrance qualification from abroad (see below), you can apply via uni-assist from 15 February onwards.

How can you apply for the degree programme?

  • Apply only via uni-assist if you have obtained your higher education entrance qualification outside Germany 
  • Apply via the TH Rosenheim online application portal if you have obtained your higher education entrance in Germany
