As a guest reader, please check in at the library's information desk during service hours with your current ID card.

The following services are available to guest readers:

• Browsing and learning
  You can browse, read and learn on our premises at any time.
  Our research catalogue BibKat is already available to you for research on your home PC. Attention: E-books cannot be used in this way. These are only available to you within the library.

• Book Loans

  Loan period: 4 weeks, with the option of three automatic renewals.

  If a reservation has been placed, the book in question must be returned.

  You will be notified of this by email.

  In general, loan requests from our university community members take priority; therefore, we may decide on the availability of a book on short notice.

  We appreciate your understanding.

  You may borrow up to 30 items from our library collection.

  If you exceed the loan period, you will immediately receive a fee-based reminder.

  You can view our late fees in the attached fee schedule.

• Inter-library loan
  You can only order scientific literature via inter-library loan.
  Guidebooks, travel guides, novels, cookbooks etc. are excluded from this service. These order requests are fulfilled by the city's central library.
  The inter-library loan service of the TH Library is free of charge - but limited to a maximum of 10 media per year for guests.
  However, it is necessary to create a user account for the library in advance.

• Journals:
  You are welcome to make copies of our journals.
  Please bring sufficient small change with you.
  A USB stick is required to use our A3 scanner.
  Please continue to observe the framework and limits of copyright law.

• Copying, scanning and printing:
  Black/white copies cost €0.07 and colour copies cost €0.10 for A4. A3 copies cost double.
  Please bring appropriate change.
  It is possible for you to scan library materials for free by using an USB stick.
  You are not allowed to print out internet content or private documents.
  Please continue to observe the frameworks and limitations of copyright law.

• Databases
  You can search our databases at our research PCs on site.

• Standards
  Current standards and guidelines of the VDE and VDI can also be viewed at the research PCs in the database area.
  Unfortunately, it is not possible to print out or download standards and/or guidelines.

• Theses:
  Theses can only be viewed at the research PCs in the library.

• WLAN
  Unfortunately, the library of the Technische Hochschule does not have guest access to the university WLAN.
