In order to meet the great demand for qualified specialists, Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences offers a Master's degree programme in Engineering Sciences with lectures held in English.
Students have the opportunity to specialise in a particular field depending on their interests and career aspirations. They can choose one of the following specialisations:

• Electrical engineering and information technology
• Mechanical engineering and plastics technology
• Mechatronics

The Master's degree programme in Engineering Science deepens the knowledge gained in the Bachelor's degree programme and teaches a wide range of interdisciplinary content. This prepares students for demanding engineering activities with project and management responsibility.

In order to meet the great demand for skilled specialists, Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences offers the Master's degree programme in Engineering Sciences with lectures conducted in English.
Students have the opportunity to specialise in a particular area by choosing one of the following specialist fields in accordance with their particular interests and career aspirations:

• Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
• Mechanical Engineering and Plastics Engineering
• Mechatronics

By advancing and specialising knowledge acquired at the Bachelor's level as well as offering a wide variety of interdisciplinary content, this course prepares students for challenging engineering activities while teaching them project and leadership responsibility.
 

The Master's programme in Engineering Sciences has a standard period of study of three semesters as a full-time programme and a maximum of six semesters as a part-time programme. It includes a practical project as well as a Master's thesis, which must be completed in the final semester.

The programme is devised as an application-focused course. Its aim is to provide its students with advanced and specialist knowledge in engineering and related areas on a scientific foundation. In addition to providing advanced training in engineering, the course is intended to promote general skills such as teamwork, intercultural communication, and English language skills.

This is supported by the Master's project, which is conducted as a group project in a situation that is as realistic as possible. Students learn methodological skills on how to organise and complete complex tasks as well as work effectively in a team.

The course contents are independent of each other, so there is no fixed sequence order. However, the majority of courses are offered only once per year. About 60% to 70% of all courses contain lectures combined with practical lab class exercises.

Whether planning, technical development, construction or research - students are ideally trained for demanding engineering activities in a wide variety of fields and can be employed above all in management positions in international commercial enterprises.

The ability to work independently in scientific fields, the practical experience in research and development as well as intercultural communication acquired during the studies are important key qualifications that play a central role in the company and facilitate the students’ entry into professional life.

Admission requirements for the Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences 

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering or an equivalent technical/economic degree or engineering degree, or an equivalent qualification obtained in Germany or abroad. An overall grade of “good” or higher is required.
• English language certificate B2
• German language certificate A2

Important: International applicants, who have acquired their first degree at a non-German institution, need a preliminary review documentation / Vorprüfungsdokumentation (VPD) from uni-assist for their application. Uni-assist will review the Bachelor’s / first degree certificate in advance and will issue a VPD. 

Application for a VPD at uni-assist is possible from the following dates:

• Summer semester: 1 September
• Winter semester: 1 March

Application
Students can start their studies in either the winter or summer semester. Applications for the summer semester run from 01 November to 15 December, applications for the winter semester from 1 April to 15 June.

Applications must be submitted online via the university's application portal.
