cand. M.Sc. Wood Technology - Technische Hochschule Rosenheim
B.Sc. Wood Products Processing - University of British Columbia, Canada

The Masters of Wood Technology program provides students from a wide range of disciplines new and practical skills to enter the industry while creating long-lasting professional relationships. Upon entering the program, I had the goal of further developing my technical knowledge, expanding my professional network and experiencing life in a new country. I am pleased to say I achieved all these items and more through the program. With a background of Wood Science from the University of British Columbia in Canada, I had the opportunity to bring my previously developed knowledge while further refining my own skills. The diverse level of course and practical related work provided an overview toward state-of-the-art technologies while preparing me for the changing industry.

The opportunities to expand my network were above and beyond my expectations. The connection between professors and the industry provided a pool of experience that wasn’t available in my previous studies. While taking on opportunities to combine my studies with industry related work provided an even greater exposure to the industry, proving just how useful the network can be. The addition of all this being located at the foothills of the Alps was not only a bonus but an opportunity to integrate into a new and unique culture. The work-life balance provided in the city creates an ideal learning environment especially coming from a North American society.

The skills I learned, the experiences I gained and the connections I made in Rosenheim will be a solid addition to my professional career. I strongly recommend the Masters of Wood Technology program to anyone attempting to further develop their knowledge on an international level with a desire to create a strong professional network in the Wood Industry.
