BWL Ahoy - first semesters on the island

The students from the first semester of the Business Administration degree programme have started their new university life with a great deal of motivation and team spirit. As part of the Introduction to General Business Administration course, they were able to spend two intensive and inspiring days on the picturesque Fraueninsel in Lake Chiemsee and spend the night in Frauenwörth Monastery.

The excursion focussed on technical content as well as soft skills, e.g. project-oriented work or presentations. In poster presentations with Prof Dr Kathrin Rößle, the students dealt with topics from accounting and corporate management and impressed with clear presentations and structured analyses. They also developed practical marketing strategies in small groups, which were pitched at the end and awarded a prize by Prof Dr Brigitte Kölzer. The winning team received a small prize - and plenty of applause from their fellow students.

A special highlight was the scavenger hunt on Fraueninsel, where the first-year students explored the island in bright sunshine and solved puzzles on business administration topics.

The excursion was rounded off with cooking together, a cosy dinner and many relaxing hours playing table football, poker and cards in the historic rooms of the monastery's catacombs.

A special start to the degree programme - and a weekend that will certainly be talked about for a long time to come!
