Program

Authors should prepare an 18-minute session where conference delegates will have the chance to try things out with their own hands or minds. Thus, presenting authors are strongly encouraged to bring artefacts, which are closely related to their topic (e.g. demos, simulations, teaching & learning materials or tools).

Same as for flipped/inverted classroom or just-in-time-teaching, contributors will prepare material for the participants to read or watch in advance of the conference. Audience members will be encouraged to prepare for this session in order to get the most out of it. After a short introduction of less than 5 minutes (summary, video, poll, …) activities take place that encourage the participants to discuss about the given input.

An 8 min presentation using power point or other visualization media will be followed by 10 min discussion or Q&A. Contributors are encouraged to prepare questions for the audience to discuss.

In order for the audience to be able to choose the posters of most interest to them, contributors will present their poster in advance to the poster session in a 30 second short pitch.

Contributors are asked to provide a one (!) page power point slide in advance. The slide should contain the title of the poster, the authors name(s) and institution as well as e.g. a “teaser” like a single picture, graph, or table. Within the 30 second pitch the contributor should target to gain the interest of the audience. Questions and discussions will take place later in front of the poster.

Target of the workshop should be to gain an in depth understanding of teaching and learning methods. The workshop should contain only short periods of input by the presenter(s) and should mainly give room for the participants to work on a topic, discuss it and/or further develop it.
