Master’s students learn for and from real-world practice

Students at the Faculty of Business Administration at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences have important final exams to sit over the coming weeks. After all, they learn a great deal during the semester to prepare themselves for the complex tasks they will face in the real world.

However, they also learn a great deal from real-world practice – and this applies to both Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes: in the ‘International Business Projects’ module, students have been working on real projects with an international context over the past few weeks in collaboration with leading companies in the region. The course leader, Prof. Dr Eckhard LACHMANN, invited several firms to discuss and analyse specific projects from everyday business life with the students. The projects addressed issues such as entering international markets, change management in different cultures and price negotiations in the face of current high cost pressures. The participating students took on various roles in carrying out these projects and, in doing so, gained valuable insights into practical project work. Special thanks go to the managers Massimo FRANCHESE (Marc O’Polo), Maximilian SATTLER (Bora), Steffen ROHWER (EON and The Development Company), Julian SCHULZ (Schattdecor) and Hendrik KLEIN (Red Bull), who shared their practical experience with the students during the modules.

The focus was clearly on practical relevance. And this is precisely what Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences is known for. As a result, everyone benefited at the end of the semester: the students immersed themselves in real-world and exciting projects; the region’s companies once again helped ensure that graduates from ‘their’ university are equipped with practical knowledge for the job market.
