An international exchange the sort the university has rarely experienced

In 2026, Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences is more international than ever: more than 1,600 students from over 100 countries shape campus life every day with new perspectives, ideas and cultures. It was precisely this diversity that took centre stage at the first International Night on 13 May 2026.

The event was organised by the International Office and the Centre for Careers, Communication & Competence. Under the motto “Culture Sparks”, guests were treated to a varied programme featuring artistic performances, music, poetry and a diverse, self-made buffet with food from all over the world. Students presented traditional costumes from their home countries on a catwalk, whilst the children of the Prutting Traditional Costume Association showcased regional culture with Bavarian dances and Schuhplattler.

There was also plenty of opportunity for academic exchange: at information stands, partner universities from the DIVERSE network provided details on international collaborations and study opportunities – including for students of business administration and other disciplines. At the same time, International Night offered numerous opportunities for German and international students, as well as guests from the partner universities, to meet and interact.

Students Josh & Krisme provided excellent musical entertainment, delivering a professional-standard live performance. Equally impressive were the musical performances by Ksenia LI, Pedro Geib, Noah Elbaraka, Zidane Zidani El Alaoui, and the spontaneous guest appearance by a lecturer from the Dutch partner university. Later in the evening, the band “Jimmy B” got everyone dancing, with staff from the THRO also taking to the stage.

There was no shortage of fun to be had with the intercultural exchange, as was particularly evident at the photo booth. As part of a student project for the evening, country-specific photo backdrops were designed and accessories made. “Will this event now take place every year?” was a question heard from many students. Let’s see what the future brings...!
