Theresa Pscherer

After completing her Abitur (German university entrance qualification), she trained as a state-certified product design assistant. She subsequently earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Materials Engineering from Hof University of Applied Sciences and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Eco Design – Sustainable Product Development, specializing in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), from the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt.

In her role at Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences (TH Rosenheim), she supports various projects involving the development of new materials and products and evaluates them from an environmental perspective. She is specialized in sustainability and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) topics, providing support through practical guidelines and project-specific workshops.

• Member of the Sustainable Engineering and Management (SEM) Research Group

  As a member of the SEM research group, Theresa Pscherer represents Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences (TH Rosenheim) and its expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) at various conferences and symposia, where she presents research findings from a range of projects in sustainability. She also supports and supervises student theses at TH Rosenheim, focusing on LCA-related topics.

   

• Research Assistant in the Research Focus Area “Climate-Resilient Bioeconomy in the Value Chain of Wood and Other Renewable Resources (ResiHoBio)”

  Within this research area, Theresa Pscherer investigates various methods for the environmental assessment of biogenic carbon and how these are addressed in LCA-relevant standards and guidelines. Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) are also examined as assessment methods within the bioeconomy. To account for future developments and ongoing automation, her work also incorporates prospective Life Cycle Assessment (prospective LCA) to evaluate future scenarios from an environmental perspective, as well as AI-based solutions for the automated collection of data for Life Cycle Assessment.

• Research Assistant in the BMWK-funded Project TransBIB – National Transfer Network for Accelerating the Industrial Bioeconomy

  As part of the project, Theresa Pscherer develops practical guidelines and delivers project-specific workshops to facilitate the introduction to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). She also contributes to the development of an information platform on certification schemes for various biomass value chains.
