Business administration students visit Schattdecor

In the middle of the semester, the 2nd semester students on the Business Administration programme at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences took the opportunity to visit the company Schattdecor. The excursion took place as part of the course on cost and performance accounting. Together with their professors Dr Felix Rößle and Dr Eckhard Lachmann, the students gained an insight into the production processes in an industrial company and also learnt about the use of cost accounting methods in practice.

The students were impressed by the fact that they were accompanied by fellow students who are also working students at Schattdecor: Tamara, a student in the 6th semester of the Bachelor of Business Administration programme, led a group through the company.  Maximilian, who is studying for a Master's degree in International Management, gave an insight into the controlling activities at Schattdecor. The visiting students were able to see how cost accounting methods are applied in practice in a large industrial company. With a certain "aha effect", they realised that terms such as costing sheet, costing method or operating profit calculation are not just textbook knowledge, but are of valuable, practical importance.
