Why business administration can hardly do without SAP anymore
In her lecture for the bachelor's degree programme in business administration at the Technical University of Rosenheim, Stefanie Binder from DATAGROUP impressively conveyed why SAP skills are becoming a decisive career factor in many business administration professions today – especially at the interface between finance, controlling, processes and data. She covered a wide range of topics, from the basics of SAP S/4HANA and the strategic transformation of SAP to cloud, analytics and AI-based solutions, and the key migration strategies of greenfield, brownfield and selective data transition.
The overview was supplemented by insights into the SAP Activate methodology and practical lessons learned from real projects: from the early involvement of relevant stakeholders, aspects of change management and the importance of data quality to test strategy and integration management. Interactive elements – including a quiz format and a concluding Q&A session – strengthened the exchange with students from Alexander Kühn's Business Informatics Applications course and made the content tangible for everyday study and professional life.
The guest lecture highlighted how valuable it is when university teaching and business practice work closely together. Particularly interesting were the insights into how much business management tasks are changing as a result of real-time data, automation and modern analysis tools. Business management students now know which skills they can specifically develop to meet the new requirements of the business world.
The Faculty of Business Administration would like to express its sincere thanks to Stefanie Binder, Diana Tremmel (Marketing Manager) and Josefa Deivel (Innovation Manager, Business Development) from DATAGROUP for this informative and practical presentation in December 2025 entitled ‘Next Level ERP – SAP expertise as a career factor: Why business administration can hardly do without SAP anymore’.
