As part of Alexander Kühn's course on business informatics applications, focusing on ERP systems with SAP S/4HANA, for bachelor's degree students in business administration at Rosenheim Technical University, a guest lecture was given on 24 November 2025 by Andreas Maximilian Doff, manager at BearingPoint. The lecture offered students practical insights into everyday working life, career paths and the current requirements of SAP consulting.
Based on his own career – from technical expert to management role – Mr Doff explained how the role of SAP consultants has changed in recent years. In addition to in-depth module and process knowledge, business acumen, project responsibility, strong communication skills and data & analytics competencies are becoming increasingly important today.
Another focus was on the typical project approach with SAP Activate and current trends such as cloud transformation, SAP BTP, AI-supported analyses and hybrid project models. Concrete practical examples clearly illustrated how SAP implementations are designed throughout the entire life cycle – from the discovery phase to live operation.
The presentation was rounded off with an overview of entry-level and career opportunities at BearingPoint, particularly for students and graduates, for example in the form of internships, working student positions or final theses.
The guest lecture was a valuable addition to the theoretical teaching and gave students a realistic insight into the requirements and prospects of SAP consulting. The Faculty of Business Administration would like to thank BearingPoint and Mr. Doff for the open exchange and the practical nature of the lecture.
