Students in Prof. Dr. Bernd Hacker’s “External Corporate Accounting” specialization module visited the Munich office of BDO Germany as part of a field trip and learned about the profession of auditing. In particular, the latest developments in IFRS performance reporting under IFRS 18 were explained.
The presentation by BDO Cyber Security GmbH titled “A Journey Through the Dark Web—Docking in the Shadow Network of the World Wide Web” proved particularly fascinating. The 90-minute tour de force through the twilight zone of the internet kept the students spellbound. Prof. Hacker also remarked afterward: “It’s surprising and unsettling how easy cybercrime is and how important it is for companies to raise awareness of it.”
Field trips like these bring the curriculum to life and provide valuable practical insights. They are an integral part of the business administration study program at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences.
