This workshop teaches the basics of scientific writing with LaTeX. We will focus on how to write and format scientific projects (e.g. bachelor theses) with LaTeX. The workshop is aimed at beginners so you will not need prior experience with LaTeX. We will focus on the following topics:
- Introduction to LaTeX IDEs
- Basic structure of LaTeX documents
- Creating chapters
- Including figures and tables
- Citations and working with literature
- Generating table of contents, list of figures, list of abbreviations, ...
We will work with "TeXStudio" in the workshop. If you want to work with your own local LaTeX installation please take care of that before the workshop (we will use MiKTeX). If you do not want to install LaTeX locally, you can use Overleaf (requires a free account).
