Refund of the Student Union contribution

Students who have already paid the Student Union contribution for the upcoming semester may be eligible for a refund under certain conditions. The refund is granted in accordance with § 6 (2) of the Statutes of the Student Union (Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern) regarding the basic contribution (Basic Contribution Statutes).

Conditions for a refund

Return of the StudentCard to the student administration:

The StudentCard must be returned to the student administration no later than five weeks after the beginning of the semester. This applies in the following cases:

• Deregistration prior to the semester for which the Student Union contribution — already paid — is to be refunded

• Exmatriculation within the first five weeks of the semester

• Withdrawal from enrolment (first-semester students only), if applied for within the first five weeks of the semester

Double enrolment:
If you are enrolled at two universities and have paid the Student Union contribution twice, a refund may be obtained from the university where the contribution is not required.

Download the refund form and submit it together with your StudentCard to the student administration by the deadline.
