When someone in your family, relationship or immediate circle develops a mental illness, it always affects you as well. As a young family member—daughter, son, sister, brother, partner, friend, roommate, or fellow student—you often take on more responsibility than you’d like. You try to be there for the person with the mental illness while also juggling your studies or job and your own family life. This double burden can be very draining and lead to loneliness.
The „Junge Angehörige – du bist wichtig“ (“Young Caregivers—You Matter”) project creates spaces where you can share your experiences, find relief and gain new perspectives.
