Scholarships for Outstanding Engagement in an International Context - Winter Semester 2026

The Welcome Service, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), offers 4 scholarships for international students who have demonstrated good academic performance and outstanding social or intercultural engagement within TH Rosenheim.

Each scholarship provides €462.50 per month for 2 months, for a total of €925.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be international students who obtained their university entrance qualification abroad (Bildungsausländer/in) and are enrolled as regular students in a degree programme at TH Rosenheim.
• Bachelor’s students must have studied for at least two semesters prior to application.
• Master’s students must have studied for at least one semester prior to application.
• Demonstrate good academic performance (approximately 2.5 or better).
• Demonstrate outstanding social or intercultural engagement within the university.
• Not currently receive a DAAD scholarship.

The application must include:

• Motivation letter describing the applicant’s social or intercultural engagement
• CV
• Certificate of enrolment (printout from the Online Service Centre)
• Transcript of records (printout from the Online Service Centre)
• Master’s students: Bachelor’s degree certificate
• Proof of social or intercultural engagement
• Recommendation letter from a professor or lecturer at TH Rosenheim outlining the applicant’s social or intercultural engagement and its significance or impact
• Proof of financial situation, including:
  • Payslips for September and October
  • Employment contract, if applicable
• Copy of passport or ID card

Selection Criteria

Applications will be assessed based on:

• Academic performance (approximately 2.5 or better)
• Extent and quality of social or intercultural engagement
• Quality of the motivation letter and supporting documents

Scholarship and Additional Income

The scholarship is a partial scholarship. Students receiving this scholarship may earn additional income.

For this scholarship:

• Scholarship: €462.50 per month
• Permitted additional income: €1,132.50 gross per month
• Maximum total: €1,595 per month

BAföG and student loans

In some cases, students from abroad may receive government loans or funding to support their studies in Germany.

The Student Union offers advice on

• financing of studies,
• studying with (chronic) illnesses,
• studying when you have children,
• working while studying, and
• social law.
