Performance optimization in production, innovative timber construction, most recent material technologies or the topic of energy efficiency: the range covered by wood technology and thus the requirements for engineers are constantly evolving. Ever greater specialist knowledge is expected for managerial positions in the international timber industry. This is precisely what the international Master Programme in Wood Technology provides. It is offered jointly by the University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim (D) together with the Bern University of Applied Sciences, Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering (CH).
Expanding skills in relation with the most recent technologies in the timber industry as well as active participation in research and industry projects are at the core of the Master Degree Programme. In the first semester students will explore in-depth the basics of mathematics and sciences and improve competence in the field of laws as well as in management. In the second semester specialised topics will be treated. In the third semester the master studies are completed by the master´s thesis.
The graduates of both universities are experts who master the newest technologies in an international environment. The knowledge and skills acquired, being also firmly rooted in practical application, will enable the graduates to become valuable assets to businesses in private enterprise, public services or institutes in the timber, machine and process industries as well as in timber construction/redevelopment and interior engineering. The graduates will be able to find work in sectors of activity such as planning, project management, production, marketing and distribution, quality control as well as in research and teaching.
