The International Student Identity Card, or ISIC for short, is the only proof of student status recognised worldwide, and offers great discounts in over 120 countries around the globe - for example on tickets and accommodation, or when entering museums and theatres.
The ISIC has been around for 45 years. During this time, it has been used by more than 40 million students. The card is issued by the ISIC Association, an international umbrella association of student travel organisations. The authorised issuer of the ISIC in Germany is rds Reisedienst Deutscher Studentenschaften GmbH in Hamburg.
The international ID card is recognised by UNESCO as a document for student mobility for its contribution towards international understanding, and is available in Germany from over 500 student travel agencies, students’ unions and student organisations.
