Students from all partner and non-partner universities of TH Rosenheim can apply for the Master Summer School programme. You need to be enrolled at the time of your application.

The classes aim at Master's degree students with a background in STEM / engineering studies. Application is also possible for students in their senior year's Bachelor's degree studies, i.e. advanced undergraduate students in their relevant fields of study.

Complete your application form and send your application documents to international@th-rosenheim.de. Make sure to keep the application deadline! More details can be found on our application website.

Yes, we provide credit points after successful participation (issued with a certificate). Credits points of the Master Summer School are rewarded based on ECTS Credit Points (ECTS = European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) which is the benchmark in European higher education. To have the academic programme credited to your studies, please check the approval of the respective class with your department's academic advisor before applying. Yes, this Summer School programme is open to Master's degree students and current exchange students at TH Rosenheim. The classes are free of charge with no insurance cover and accommodation during the programme. Local students are invited to all social activities upon availability. If you are enrolled at a Master's degree programme at TH Rosenheim, please use the application form for students at TH Rosenheim.

After successful application, participants will receive a registration/invoice letter including payment details for their choice of programme by e-mail. You must pay the participation fee within two weeks after issue of the letter, the latest date for payment being 7 June 2024 in any case. 

In reasonable cases, participants may also cancel their participation. A cancellation must be made by e-mail to international@th-rosenheim.de before 1 June 2024, so that a refund is possible. A fee for administrative expenses of 50 EUR will be charged and held back from the refund. Bank transfer charges are at the expense of the participant. After 1 June 2024, the participation fee will not be refunded in any case.

Germany is a member state of the Schengen area.

EU nationals do not require a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany.

For non-EU nationals, the visa obligation is mainly depending on your nationality and duration of your visits (of up to 90 days).The Federal Foreign Office offers a quick guide on visa regulations here: Visa regulations - Federal Foreign Office (auswaertiges-amt.de)

Please note that it is your responsibility to apply for visa if necessary for entry. In this case, the invitation letter may be used to apply for a visa to enter Schengen area to Germany.

Important:

If you would like to spend time in Germany/Europe before or after the summer school in Rosenheim, make sure to apply for the exact period of time with your visa. It is not possible to change the visa period after entering Germany/Europe. You have to leave when your visa expires!

Please note that it is your responsibility to apply for visa if necessary for entry. Please contact the nearest German mission abroad covering your place of residence. You can find missions abroad via the Federal Foreign Office.

TH Rosenheim cannot advise or represent you in the visa process. Due to personal data protection , we do not receive any information about your visa application from embassies or consulates.

The town of Rosenheim is located in Germany, south of the Bavarian state capitol Munich. Rosenheim lies close to the Alps and offers a good starting point for travels to Austria, Italy and beyond. Our campus is easy to reach by public transport via Munich. Detailed information about arrival to Rosenheim.

Our Technical University of Applied Sciences is home to more than 6.500 students. We have a strong standing in engineering studies. Our Master's degrees are very popular with local and international students who can study completely in English.  The transfer between studies and practice is important to us. Our lecturers come from professional practice in industry and all of our students have practical trainings as part of their degree programmes.

Generally, meals are not included in the programme. We try to keep the fees as low as possible, so there's an option for each budget. You can book addiotnal breakfast directly at the hotel. There are also many supermarkets and bakeries around your accommodation. For lunch, there are cafeteria options on campus and supermarkets. Dinner options for all budgets are available in Rosenheim.

Catering during social activities is provided by TH Rosenheim and is included in the programme.

Travel documents and sufficient financial provisions are essential. Some cash is already helpful on arrival, and we recommend to keep some cash with you (currency is Euros).

There are many ATMs to withdraw money in Rosenheim. Most stores and supermarkets accept credit cards, but smaller shops may not. Money exchange can be done in Munich, but not in Rosenheim.

For classes, you can bring a laptop or tablet with you. 

Summer in Germany is the top travel season with long daylight hours, few rainy days and pleasant to warm temperatures in average. We recommend to travel light and also prepare cloths for chilly and rainy conditions. There is a self-service laundry in Rosenheim. You should bring comfortable sneakers for walks and social activities. Keep some free space for souvenirs, too. :)

Yes, all participants are covered by a combined international health insurance, travel liability insurance and travel accident insurance during their stay in the programme. These insurances are essential for any stay abroad.

You may need additional insurances. Please note that this insurance service does not cover a travel cancellation insurance.

From the hotel in Rosenheim, you can reach our campus either by walking (approx. 25 minutes) or by local train (approx. 5 minutes). No worries, we'll pick you up on your first day of classes and a guided city tour gives you orientation. Many sights in Rosenheim are in a walking distance around the hotel. The accommodation is close to the train station and the central bus station, so you are best connected for trips in and around town.

Rosenheim and  Munich offer plenty of leisure activities for all kinds of budgets and hobbies. You find plenty of reviews on travel blogs. We are happy to help you!

In Rosenheim, nature lovers quickly reach the river Mangfall, where friends enjoy the sunset over the Alps. In the evening, you can reach the old town very quickly from the hotel. You will find many opportunities for shopping, dinner, beer gardens and bars. The old town also offers many arcades and smaller stores to discover. In the long summer nights at the end of July the city centre is very lively with artists and events.

The hostel in Munich is located close to Ostbahnhof (Munich East station) with dinner options and takeaways just around the corner. You are best connected to public transport and reach all cultural sights from there (make a bargain: many museums only cost 1 EUR admission on Sundays). Munich is also famous for its charming neighborhoods and various shopping malls. The English Garden, one of the largest parks in the world, is a great place to hang out together along the river Isar. Munich's nightlife offers something for everyone: traditional pubs, fancy cafés, cinema and night clubs.

Just around your hotel in Rosenheim, you will find plenty of grocery and pharmacy stores. The hotel offers a daily breakfast for an additional charge. Shopping opportunities are available for all budgets in the city centre.

As an enrolled student at an Erasmus+ partner university you can join the Master Summer School at TH Rosenheim as a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP). We do not charge any tuition fees from BIP participants. As an option, you can book a service package for accommodation and insurance. You find more information on the application website.

A BIP is a short-term academic programme in a blended format, i.e. a mix of virtual and physical mobility, between Erasmus+ partner universities. As such it can be supported by Erasmus+ funds. The BIP is offered by TH Rosenhiem as organising/receiving institution.  Physical mobile students within this framework of Erasmus+ partner universities may apply for individual support to cover their expenses for travel, stay and living expenses during the programme. These individual grants are handled by your home university as a sending institution. Please ask yourInternational Office, whether you can apply for an Erasmus+ funded physical mobility, to join our summer school in Rosenheim. Please ask for approval at your home university before applying.

Complete your application form and send it with your complete documents to international@th-rosenheim.de. Before you apply, please make sure your university takes part in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) and rewards short-term mobility grants. 

The Erasmus+ mobility grant is 79 EUR per day of physical activity within the programme. The Master Summer School at TH Rosenheim has 6 days of programme from Monday, 22 July 2024, to Saturday, 27 July 2024. If your application as a BIP participant at TH Rosenheim is successful and your individual Erasmus+ support is approved by your home university, you should receive 474 EUR in total.
